FEBRUARY IS HEART HEALTH MONTH
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States for both men and women. The American Heart Association would like to remind us that heart disease is preventable when people make health choices. Small changes add up to big gains in combating heart disease, like:

    • Reducing salt intake by using spices and herbs to season food
    • Getting daily exercise as simple as walking for short amounts of time
    • Reducing or eliminating smoking and drinking alcohol
    • Losing weight
    • Controlling blood pressure and cholesterol levels

Try one change at a time, and you will be very surprised how easy it is to achieve better health. For more information, please visit the American Heart Association at www.heart.org. return to menu
