SAYING GOODBYE TO A FRIEND
Bernice Bourne

Longtime Mansfield resident and COA member Bernice Bourne passed away on October 3rd, 2016. Bernie was a daily visitor at the COA for several years, and participated in many activities. She assumed leadership roles in the Friends of the Drop In Center and Mansfield Triad, and worked alongside others to strengthen COA programs offered to older adults. The time she gave to the Mansfield COA, its seniors and the Friends of the Drop In Center through the years was invaluable. The Council On Aging became Bernie’s second home, and, often during Friends’ activities, her daughters and grandchildren would accompany her as volunteers. It is with great sadness that the Mansfield Council On Aging community says a final good-bye to this friend and family member, who will always remain in our thoughts. return to menu
